Looking back at the foundations to my career path I would have to say four factors have been the corner stone of my focus and direction. My father, a multi-generational merchant with the belief that his word is his honour, a fascination with numbers, an eagerness to learn and acquire new knowledge, and the exhilaration to have a hand in the success produced by a small business owner.

Even before completion of my education in United Kingdom, where I received an undergraduate degree focused on Economic & Finance as an honour student, I was directly involved in a number of small business ventures which included jeweller trade, automotive parts sales, video store, and the founder of the first student supply store in my university serving 1000’s of students.

Almost 3 decades later, having lived in 3 continents, having learned to communicate in five languages, and having received wall to wall display of achievement accolades my career path has honed my skills to serve small business needs to a unique level. From the days at Compucentre where I acted as the primary advisor for the selection, design, programming, and support for custom or of the shelf accounting/tax software packages used by small business and individual users, to the days spent on duties at Royal Bank as a Senior Commercial Lending Officer, I have served in one capacity or another 1000’s of small business operations in different business segments.

This path, mostly gained in Canada, has taken me through many national organizations (Compucentre, Compusmart, Microage, HomeLife Business Brokerage, London Life, Quadrus Investments, Freedom 55 Financial, Scotiabank, and Royal Bank). Common to each post I have held has been the dependability to provide the financial/accounting tools, and appropriate guidance necessary to aid 1000’s of individual business owners in their struggle towards their personal /family financial success and comfort.

A valuable lesson that has been learned is “It is NOT what you know that leads to success; it is what you can do with what know! And this journey always starts with one step”
